Kidapawan ready to host licensure exam for teachers

COTABATO CITY – The Kidapawan City government said it has completed preparations for this Sunday’s Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET) where 6,435 education graduates are expected to take the tests in five testing centers in the area.

Mayor Joseph Evangelista said hotels, inns, and lodging houses are also prepared to accommodate the examinees coming from the provinces of North Cotabato, Maguindanao, Davao del Sur, South Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, and Sarangani.

Police and force-multipliers will be deployed to the testing centers to ensure peaceful and orderly examination.

“This is the third time Kidapawan City is hosting the licensure examination for teachers,” Evangelista said.

Other major cities in Mindanao, as well as in other parts of the country, were also tapped to serve as testing centers for the thousands of teacher-examinees.

Evangelista said the city government had conducted a dry run in the schools where the teachers will take the tests, including traffic rerouting, sustained electricity and the use of power generators should unscheduled power interruption occur.

The LET testing centers include the Notre Dame of Kidapawan College, Central Mindanao Colleges, Colegio de Kidapawan, Kidapawan City National High School, and the Kidapawan City Pilot Elementary School.

Meanwhile, the PRC Kidapawan City satellite service center said it would be distributing PRC identification cards and examination ratings for those who took the LET last March.

The PRC has advised teachers’ board passers and non-passers alike to bring their claim stubs for an easy procedure. The IDs and examination ratings will be released at PRC Mobile Services Office situated at the Kidapawan City overland transport terminal building. (Edwin Fernandez/PNA)
