Kin of slain soldier suspected in killing of Jolo police chief

Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Gen. Debold Sinas confirmed that one of the suspects behind the killing of the former Jolo chief of police is a relative of a slain army intelligence officer in the Jolo shooting incident.

The PNP has already filed complaints against seven suspects in the killing of PLtCol. Walter Annayo. Annayo was the chief of police in Jolo when the shooting incident last June 2020 took place. Four army personnel were killed in the hands of nine police personnel.

Sinas said vengeance is a possible motive behind the killing of the police chief last November. He was already relieved from his post due to the incident prior to his death. The PNP is still looking for the nine police personnel involved in the incident who have pending arrest warrants issued by a court in Jolo. – Report from Bea Bernardo
