KWF’s Timpalak Jacinto sa Sanaysay now open for entries

The Komisyon sa Wikang Filipino (KWF) is inviting young writers in Grades 7 to 11 to submit entries to their Timpalak Jacinto sa Sanaysay essay writing tilt.

In line with the theme “Buwan ng Wika” (Month of Language) 2021, the essay topics should be about the history of the contestants’ place or province. 

The entries must be original and unpublished essays, 1,000 words in length, written in Filipino, and must not have been translated from another language. The format should follow the guidelines in the KWF Ortograpiyang Pambansa at Manwal sa Masinop na Pagsulat which may be downloaded from their website at kwf.gov.ph.

The prizes are: For first, 20,000, a medal, and a plaque; second, 15,000 and a certificate; and third, 10,000 and a certificate. 

The advisers of the winners will receive a Certificate of Recognition.

The contest is named after the young writer Emilio D. Jacinto (1875-1899) who is better known as one of the highest ranking officers of both the Philippine Revolutionary forces and the revolutionary society ‘Katipunan’ (Kataas-taasan, Kagalang-galangang Katipunan ng mga Anak ng Bayan).
