LGUs to meet SAP distribution deadline on May 7

Local Government Units (LGUs) are in full swing in distributing the Social Amelioration Program aid before the given deadline on Thursday, May 7.

According to the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), around 8.6 million beneficiaries have received aid worth PhP 51.1 billion.

Based on the data of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), 828 out of 1,598 LGUs nationwide have completed the distribution of aid. Meanwhile, more than PhP 4, 825, 776, 000 billion aid has been distributed to 603, 222 families in the National Capital Region (NCR).

Caloocan, Pasig, Valenzuela, Marikina, Mandaluyong, and Manila lead the SAP distribution. LGUs that will not complete the distribution will be served a show cause order served by the DILG on a case to case basis. – PTV News
