Lhuillier: Blu Girls’ hot Asiad start ‘testament’ to team’s upsides

MANILA –-Amateur Softball Association of the Philippines (ASAPHIL) president Jean Henri Lhuillier was all praises to the Philippine Blu Girls for their impressive start in their Asian Games campaign in Jakarta.

The Blu Girls opened their campaign with an 8-0 rout of Hong Kong on Sunday night.

They then edged South Korea, 5-3, and China, 1-0, on Monday to go 3-0 in the tournament, making them early threats for the gold medal.

“Our Blu Girls’ three successive wins against Hong Kong, Korea, and powerhouse China is a testament to the talent and dedication of our women’s national softball team. They have what it takes to deliver a podium finish for the Philippines,” said Lhuillier.

He then added that he will continue on providing support for the Philippine team.

“I wish them luck and assure them of my full support as they continue to show their best in the Asian Games,” Lhuillier said.

The Blu Girls are up for an uphill task later Tuesday as they take on no less than the defending champion, Japan. ( Ivan Stewart Saldajeno /PNA)
