MANILA — Some parts of the archipelago will experience light rains due to the northeast monsoon affecting Luzon and the Visayas, the weather bureau said on Saturday.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) added that the trough of a low-pressure area will cause cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorm over eastern Visayas, Caraga, and Davao.

The northeast monsoon will bring cloudy skies with light rains over the Cagayan Valley, Ilocos, and Cordillera regions, and partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over the rest of Luzon and the Visayas.

The rest of Mindanao will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers caused by localized thunderstorm.

Meanwhile, strong winds will blow over northern Luzon, the eastern part of central and southern Luzon and the Visayas. Coastal waters along these areas will be rough.

Moderate to strong winds will prevail over the eastern section of Mindanao, where waters will be moderate to rough.

Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate with light to moderate seas, PAGASA said.
