Liquor ban back in Navotas

The City of Navotas has implemented anew the ban on sale and delivery of alcoholic beverages and their consumption in public areas amid rising cases of COVID-19.

According to Mayor Toby Tiangco, safety protocols such as wearing of masks and face shield, together with social distancing, are not properly observed during drinking sessions.

Based on City Ordinance No. 2021-18, strolling in the city under the influence of alcohol and bringing of liquors in public areas are prohibited.

Violators will be fined Php1,000 or a day of imprisonment on their first offense, Php3,000 or five-day imprisonment for second offense, and Php 5,000 or 10-day jail time for third offense.

Quezon City and Paraῆaque City have also earlier prohibited the consumption and sale of liquors amid the surge of COVID-19 cases. – AG, PTV News Online
