Livelihood activities mark ATI Calabarzon’s 32 year

TRECE MARTIRES CITY, Cavite – The Agricultural Training Institute (ATI), the Department of Agriculture’s (DA) training arm in Calabarzon, on Monday bared its 32nd anniversary activities, to be conducted at its training complex in Lapadario village from January 28 top 30.

ATI Information Officer Dr. Rolando V. Maningas said the celebration themed “Sustaining Vibrant Agricultural Productivity Through Harmonized and Proactive Extension Services”, will be marked by a motorcade around Trece Martires City, training, demos, exhibit of agricultural products and livelihood forums.

“It will also include the oath taking of our four regular staff and the awarding of loyalty to four ATI Calabarzon officers and staff,” Maningas said, adding the awards rite is slated Jan. 28 following the motorcade.

The awardees include ATI 4-A Center Director Maritess Piamonte Cosico, who together with her Assistant Director and Training Superintendent Mariel Celeste C. Dayanghirang will mark their 35th year with the Center.

ATI’s partner farms will be holding their ‘tyangge’ (bazaar), showcasing various farm products from January 29 to 30.

Lectures on “Natural Feed Formulation for Native Pig Production” and “Capsulizing Your Herbs and Spices: Producing Higher Value Planting Materials by Creative Propagation Techniques” as well as a free seminar on urban agriculture are also lined up on January 29 and 30, respectively.

Simultaneous discussions on “Angas” Beef: Heritage Rediscover cooking demo and herbal soap making using farm-available materials await the participants on January 30.

As DA’s extension arm here, the ATI is taking the lead in providing extension services for sustained agricultural productivity in Cavite and the rest of the Calabarzon region.
