Lower House to probe OFW repatriation

The House of Representatives is set to investigate concerns regarding the repatriation of stranded Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) in the country.

Public accounts chairperson Mike Defensor said they want to determine the problems of OFWs being sent home after losing their jobs due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Lower House also aims to probe the reported situation of OFWs who had to sleep in airports. Government officials will be called to attend the hearing to explain and act on the issue. – Report from Daniel Manalastas
