Loyzaga takes oath as DENR secretary

President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr. administered on Tuesday, July 19, the oath of office to Ma. Antonia “Toni” Loyzaga as the secretary of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR).

Marcos said in a statement that the expertise of Loyzaga as the chairperson of International Advisory Board of the Manila Observatory will be significant in delivering her tasks on her new post.

“Batid ko na ang kanyang karanasan bilang dating chairperson ng International Advisory Board of the Manila Observatory ay magiging kapaki-pakinabang sa departamentong kanyang pamumunuan,” Marcos said.

Loyzaga also advocated for scientific research on climate and disaster resilience, and took the role as the executive director of the Manila Observatory and technical adviser of the Philippine Disaster Resilience Foundation.  – ag
