The low-pressure area (LPA) inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) will bring rains over parts of the country until Tuesday, July 25, the weather bureau said.

The LPA was last tracked 390 kilometers east of Borongan City, Eastern Samar.

“It still has a slim chance of developing into a tropical cyclone, but it will continue to bring rains over parts of Luzon and the Visayas until Tuesday,” weather forecaster Aldczar Aurelio of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.

He added that the tropical depression outside PAR is unlikely to enter the country.

Cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms will be experienced over Eastern and Central Visayas, Caraga, Bicol regions, and province of Negros Occidental on Monday.

Flash floods or landslides are likely during moderate to at times heavy rains.

The rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers caused by localized thunderstorms.

Up to 34 °C temperature is forecast in Tuguegarao; up to 33°C in Metro Manila, Laoag, and Kalayaan Islands. The temperature in Legazpi and Puerto Princesa will reach up to 32°C.

Davao and Zamboanga’s temperature is up to 32°C; while Tacloban, Cebu, Iloilo and Cagayan de Oro’s temperature is up to 31°C.

Moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough seas will prevail over Luzon and Mindanao.

Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate with slight to moderate seas. (PNA) –ag
