LRT-2 eyes resumption of full operations in 2 to 3 months

The Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) is looking into the possibility of repairing the damaged parts of the buned rectifier that cause the paralysis of the LRT-2 operations, instead of buying a new one. If the technical team deems it better to go for the first scenario, LRT-2 operations may resume in two to three months as opposed to the latter which may take nine months. Meanwhile, the LRT-2 line operations have started earlier today onwards at 5:00 AM from the usual 6:00 AM and shall end in the usual hours at 8:30 PM at the Cubao station and 9:00 PM at the Recto station. Free rides for students have also resumed today, October 14, from 5:00 to 6:00 AM and 3:00 to 4:30 PM.

50% of the passengers have been lost due to the partial operations of the LRT-2. The LRTA is working hard to expedite the resumption of train operations at the Anonas Station to gain them back.
