LRT2 to implement shorter operating hours on Dec. 24, 31

By Gabriela Baron

The Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) will implement shorter operating hours on Christmas Eve, Dec. 24, and New Year’s Eve, Dec. 31.

The schedules are as follows:

Dec. 24 (Saturday):

Last trip to Recto – 8:00 p.m.
Last trip to Antipolo – 8:30 p.m.

Dec. 31(Saturday):

Last trip to Recto – 7:00 p.m.
Last trip to Antipolo – 7:30 p.m.

Meanwhile, regular LRT-2 operating hours (5:00 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.) will remain on Dec. 25, Dec. 30, and Jan. 1.

LRTA said the implementation of shorter operating hours is due to the expected low number of passengers during the said dates.

“Layunin din nito na mabigyan ng pagkakaton ang mga frontline personnel ng LRT-2 na makapagdiwang kasama ang pamilya ngayong holiday season,” the LRTA said. -ag
