LRT-2 to offer free rides on Rizal Day

The Light Rail Transit Line 2 (LRT-2) will offer free rides on Friday, Dec. 30, to commemorate the death anniversary of Philippine national hero Dr. Jose Rizal.

“Ang libreng sakay ay bilang pakikiisa ng [Light Rail Transit Authority] LRTA sa mga Pilipino sa paggunita at pag-alala sa kabayanihan ni Gat Jose Rizal,” LRTA said.

Passengers will avail of the free rides from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

The first train will depart from Recto and Antipolo Stations at 5:00 a.m. while the last train from Antipolo Station will leave at 9:00 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. from Recto Station.

The railway management reminded commuters to still comply with minimum health protocols during the free rides. -ag
