LRT, MRT to offer free rides on Independence Day

MANILA — Railway systems in Metro Manila will be offering free rides to passengers in celebration of the 121st anniversary of the declaration of Philippine Independence on June 12.

Light Rail Manila Corporation (LRMC) Corporate Communications head, Rochelle Gamboa, told the Philippine News Agency (PNA) on Friday that the Light Rail Transit Line 1 (LRT-1) will offer free rides from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

In its advisory, the Light Rail Transit Line 2 (LRT-2) management announced that it will also provide free rides to passengers at the same time.

The Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) earlier said passengers will be able to avail of the free rides on Independence Day.

“Free rides will be offered to passengers from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.,” the MRT-3 said in its advisory on Thursday.
