LTFRB reminds operators, commuters: No fare matrix, no fare hike

By Gabriela Baron

The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) warned operators of public utility vehicles (PUV) against collecting higher fares starting Monday, Oct. 3, without the new fare matrix.

In an advisory, LTFRB said public utility jeepney (PUJ), modern PUJ (MPUJ), and public utility bus (PUB) operators are required to obtain a new fare matrix from the LTFRB before they can charge a new fare.

As for taxi operators, LTFRB said they must also obtain a fare guide at the LTFRB office.
