Magnitude 3.5 aftershock hits Ilocos Norte

MANILA — A magnitude 3.5 quake was recorded Monday morning in Ilocos Norte, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.

This is an aftershock of the magnitude 5.4 quake that jolted the area at around 10:48 a.m.

The magnitude 3.5 quake of tectonic origin struck 10 km. northeast of Pagudpud at 11:02 a.m.

It had a depth of 25 km.

Intensity 1 was reported in Laoag City, Claveria and Cagayan.

Phivolcs said it is not expecting any damage or aftershocks from the magnitude 3.5 quake.
