Magnitude 4.2 hits Sarangani Island

A 4.2-magnitude earthquake struck waters off Sarangani Island in Davao Occidental on Tuesday afternoon, July 5, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported.

The tectonic quake struck 219 kilometers (km) Southeast of Sarangani Island at 2:44 p.m. The tremor had a depth of 33 km.

No damages were reported. Aftershocks are not expected. – gb
