Maguindanao cops arrest 3 drug suspects, seize gun

DATU ODIN SINSUAT, Maguindanao — Three illegal drug suspects were arrested and 13 sachets of suspected shabu and a hand gun were seized during an anti-drug operation here Thursday morning, police said.

Chief Supt. Graciano Mijares, police director for the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, identified the suspects as Maguid Abdul, 43; Saguia Diang, 41; and Samira Diang, 40, all of Poblacion Dalican here.

Mijares said the trio was the subject of a search warrant issued by a local court for violation of Republic Act No. 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002). Police also seized shabu paraphernalia and a .45 – caliber pistol with ammunition.

The suspects and seized evidence were turned over to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency.

Mijares urged owners of unlicensed guns “to surrender (them) to the nearest police station to avoid being subjected to police law enforcement operation.”

He also appealed to the public to report to the nearest police station if they have information regarding the proliferation of illegal drugs in their neighborhood. (Edwin Fernandez/PNA)
