Malacañang confident about Morales signing bank secrecy waiver

As the investigation gains ground on alleged anomalies at the Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (Philhealth), Malacañang expressed confidence that its President and CEO Ricardo Morales will agree to sign and release a bank secrecy waiver.

According to Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque, all government officials have to sign such an agreement on their Statement of Assets, Liabilities and Net worth (SALN).

Meanwhile, Presidential Spokesperson shared that Morales is intending to talk with President Rodrigo R. Duterte. While the President may welcome him, he will let the investigation progress.

“Well, bukas naman po ang pinto ng Malacañang para kanino pero umuusad na po iyong imbestigasyon at sigurado naman po ako na dahil binuo iyan ni Presidente, eh magkakaroon na po iyan ng sariling buhay at sariling identity ang Task Force na iyan (Well, the doors of Malacañang are open for anyone but the investigation is ongoing and I’m sure that because the President has created it [task force], it will have its own life and identity) .”
