Malacañang ensures Christmas bonus for government workers

Malacañang ensured that, in accordance with the law, government employees will receive their Christmas bonus this year.

Based on the Salary Standardization Law, government workers must receive their yearend bonus by the month of November.

According to Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque, there is no reason for the bonus not to be implemented since it is part of the national funds.

Secretary Roque has also admitted that even higher officials receive bonuses.

“We get whatever every other government official gets – if it’s a 13th month pay, it’s a 13th month pay. As to whether or not magdo-donate po ang mga miyembro ng Gabinete, kaniya-kaniya po iyan. (As to whether or not the cabinet members will donate, that’s their prerogative).” – Report from Mela Lesmoras
