Malcañang considers work-from-home for gov’t employees amid COVID-19

Malacañang is considering a work-from-home arrangement for government employees due to the increasing number of COVID-19 (Corona Virus Disease 2019) cases in the Philippines.

According to Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo, the arrangement is feasible to prevent the spread of COVID-19. “” Well, everything that will help contain the virus, government will certainly adopt. Everything is possible, everything that will successfully restrain the spread of this virus to the communities”

Deputy Speaker Raymund Villafuerte has first urged the Employers Confederation of the Philippines and other companies to be part of the prevention of the spread of COVID-19 while Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Secretary Silvestre Bello III also believes the work-from-home arrangement is a huge advantage in reducing the risk of the growing COVID-19 cases in the country.
