Marcos joins Misuari, Ebrahim during BTA Parliament inauguration

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Thursday, Sept. 15, joined in one stage Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) Founder Nur Misuari and Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) interim Chief Minister Ahod Balawag “Murad” Ebrahim during the Bangsamoro Transition Authority (BTA) opening ceremony in Cotabato City.

In a rare opportunity, the leaders of the former rivals MNLF and Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) joined together during the opening of the Parliament session of the BTA.

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. urged BTA officials and other leaders who took their oaths to facilitate the BARMM election in 2025.

Marcos also acknowledged the new BTA members and paid tribute to the achievements of fundamental laws in BARMM including the administrative, civil service, and education code which is among the priority legislations under the BTA’s mandate.

Some of the included mandates are also about revenue code, electoral code, and local governance code.

Marcos also assured the citizens of Bangsamoro that his administration is committed to achieving peace in their region.
