Marcos rejects Robredo’s debate challenge

The camp of presidential candidate Bongbong Marcos said the debate between Marcos and Vice President Leni Robredo “will never happen,” following Robredo’s one-on-one debate dare to the former senator.

In a statement issued on April 29, Marcos camp spokesperson Vic Rodriguez said Marcos and Robredo may be running for the same position but have different perspectives and approach when it comes to “communicating with the people.”

Positibong pangangampanya at walang paninira ang gabay ng UniTeam ni Bongbong Marcos. At derecho sa taumbayan ang mga mensahe nito at ang panawagan ng pagkakaisa,” Rodriguez said.

He stressed that “peaceful” campaigning for the country’s top position provides a form of relief for the people who have been suffering from the economic crisis brought about by the pandemic.

“Hindi nag-aaway at nagsisiraan ang mga taong naghahangad na mamuno sa bansa,” he said. VC–ag
