President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. confirmed on Tuesday, Feb. 14, he had a conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and assured that the Philippines is with Ukraine in their “search for peace.”
“I had the pleasure of talking to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy yesterday. I told him that we in the Philippines are watching with admiration, the bravery and the nationalism that has been displayed by the Ukrainians during this crisis,” Marcos said in a tweet.
“[We] join in his effort to reach a peaceful resolution to the ongoing conflict in his country. Mr. President, we are with you in your search for peace,” he added.

In a tweet Monday night, Zelenskyy thanked Marcos for supporting Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
“Had the first call in the history of bilateral relations with President of the Philippines,” he tweeted.
“We discussed further deepening of cooperation, in particular on international platforms,” he added.
