Indian President Ram Nath Kovind’s state visit to the Philippines has not only further deepened the ties of the two countries, it has also proven beneficial in the medical field. The partnership of the Indian government and the Philippine state has resulted in the foreign government’s commitment to enhance medicine in the Philippines. The Indian government has committed to help develop the Philippines’s liver transplant capability through technology transfer with the end of reducing the cost of the organ transfer performed locally. Training more doctors and nurses in performing the procedure will help even the playing field. India also plans to open manufacturing companies to offer more affordable medicines in the Philippines.
