NCRPO, Quiapo church bent for the 2020 Traslacion

The 2020 Traslacion being just a week away, the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) and the officials of the Quiapo church convened to prepare for the religious hap. The security and welfare of the devotees were the primordial consideration in the meeting.

The police arm manifested the implementation of tighter security measures in the course of the religious activity. “So we’ll be requesting the telcos na at the eight palang, iputol na up to matapos ‘yong translasyon. So ‘yon ‘yong isa. Dalawa, we’ll again ask for the suspension ng permit to carry firearm outside. Siguro, during sa pahalik up to matapos ‘yong ano . . . .” (So we’ll be requesting the telcos to cut right at the eighth up to the end of the traslacion. That is the first. Second, we’ll again ask for the suspension of the permit to carry firearm outside. Perhaps, during the “pahalik” up to the conclusion of the . . . .), informed Police Brigadier General Debold Sinas, the Acting Director of the NCRPO.

The traditional conduct of the procession, however, will be untouched. In addition, the police office is inclined to adopting the ground plan executed in the thanksgiving procession on 31 December 2019.

Here are some other details during the assembly of the NCRPO and Quiapo church leaders. First, numerous police officers will be sent to monitor the event. Second, the progression will traverse the Ayala Bridge instead of the original Jones Bridge, resulting in 300 meter-less procession. Moreover, there will be prohibition on vendors to engage. Last, advice is given to devotees, especially those with heart ailments, not to partake in the activity.

The hijos del nazareno pitched that their preparation for the 2020 Traslacion has commenced four months ago.

Towards the orderly conduct of the hap, the Quiapo church officials call on people to be disciplined in carrying out the 2020 Traslacion.
