Meralco: Electric bills lower for June

The Manila Electric Company (Meralco) has announced a rollback of Php 0.0216 per kWh in power rates for the month of June from the Php 8.74 rate last month.

Consumers with a consumption of 200 kWh will have a deduction of Php 4.00 in their bills, Php 6.00 for 300 kWh, Php 9.00 for 400 kWh, and Php 11.00 for 500 kWh.

Meralco claimed it is the lowest rate since February 2018 due to the decline in power demand among commercial establishments during the ECQ period and temporary suspension of environmental charges.

Meralco urged consumers with concerns on their bills to immediately coordinate with their business centers.

Meralco Spokesperson Joe Zaldarriaga said other bases will not be used except for the actual meter reading. – Report from Stephanie Sevillano
