MERALCO to reduce charges in July

The Manila Electric Company (MERALCO) has announced that it will reduce charges in its July billing.

The deduction will reach Php 2.9 per kilowatt hour which means that the cost in households consuming 200 kWh will lessen by Php 6.

This is the third month of adjustment made by MERALCO resulting to lesser generation charges. Based on data, the July adjustment is the lowest since September 2017.

MERALCO stated that majority of the consumers have an underestimation instead of overestimation. The company reminded that refund is available in the nearest MERALCO Business Centers if payments have been made for the estimated bill. If not, the refund can be deducted from the next bill. Consumers may also apply for installment payment of the actual meter reading.
