The Metro Manila Council (MMC) assured on Wednesday that the vaccination in the region will be made simultaneously once the mass inoculation in the country begins.
According to MMC Chairperson and Paraῆaque Mayor Edwin Olivarez, the priority beneficiaries of the vaccination program include medical frontline workers, senior citizens, and vulnerable sectors.
“Kaya lahat po ng LGUs sa Metro Manila ay naghahanda na po ng aming vaccinators, logistics at kung saan po magkakaroon ng vaccination center (That is why all LGUs in Metro Manila are now preparing for our vaccinators, logistics, and the possible location of vaccination center),” Olivarez stated.
“Magkakaroon po ng mga vaccination centers po ‘yan sa bawat isang LGU po ‘yan. Doon po ‘yung may scheduling na pupunta po roon (There will be vaccination centers in each LGU. There will be scheduling for those who will go),” Olivarez added.
The Department of the Interior Local Government (DILG) earlier advised LGUs to purchase vaccines for only 50 percent of their population to let them support other measures against COVID-19.
Meanwhile, Olivarez said local chief executives will also strengthen their information drive regarding vaccines to convince more individuals to get inoculated. – Report from Kenneth Paciente
