Mga simbahan, posibleng gawing vaccination site

Nakikipag-ugnayan na ang Department of Health (DOH) sa pribadong sektor, malalaking ospital, at maging sa mga mall upang mapalawak at mas lalong mapabilis ang pagbabakuna sa mga Pilipino.

Kasama rin sa plano ng ahensya na gawing vaccination sites ang malalaking parking area at maging mga simbahan, ayon sa mungkahi ng Interim National Immunization Technical Advisory Group (NITAG).

Ani DOH Spokesperson Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire, “Because in Churches po, well ventilated po usually daw ang mga lugar na malalaki ang simbahan at baka maaaring makatulong din sa mga pagbabakuna natin.”

Hinihintay na lang din na mapirmahan ang Memorandum of Agreement kaugnay sa pag-convert ng Nayong Pilipino upang magsilbing mega vaccination site.

Samantala, sa ngayon ay hindi pa nakikita ng DOH ang posibilidad sa rekomendasyon ng OCTA Research Group na ilaan ang 90% ng alokasyon ng bakuna sa NCR Plus dahil na rin sa kasalukuyang suplay ng mga bakuna.

“Nakita naman natin na bumababa na ang mga kaso dito. Nakapagbigay din ng sapat na allocation sa NCR Plus Bubble para makatulong naman po para sa pagprotekta ng mga vulnerable pero allocating 90 percent of supplies in NCR Plus Bubble, sa tingin naming hindi appropriate at di po namin kaya sa ngayon because di pa naman ganun kastable ang supply ng mga bakuna,” saad ni Vergeire.

Tiniyak din ng DOH na handa silang tumulong sa mga lokal na pamahalaan na hirap maabot ang target na numero ng dapat mabakunahan kada araw. – Ulat ni Mark Fetalco / CF-rir
