Misamis Occidental town mayor shot dead in Cebu City ambush.

Clarin, Misamis Occidental Mayor David Navarro was killed in an ambush whilst being transported by authorities to the Cebu City Prosecutor’s Office for inquest proceedings. Five others including a police escort of the mayor were wounded.

Mayor Navarro was arrested by Cebu City police on Wednesday, October 24, for allegedly assaulting a massage therapist. The mayor was also facing charges of acts lasciviousness.

Initial police report has it that Mayor Navarro was gunned down by at least four heavily armed men.
