MMDA Chair: 76% of NCR senior citizens now fully vaxxed vs. COVID-19

Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Chairperson Benhur Abalos confirmed on Sunday (Aug. 15) that at least 76% of senior citizens in Metro Manila are now fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

He added that 89% of the senior citizens in the region have received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

Abalos insisted that vaccination is still the key to halt the spread of the virus, especially the Delta variant.

“Because of the surge in COVID cases, communities need more health personnel for isolation and triaging. More health workers are also needed in hospitals,” he added.
