More sectors to re-open under new IATF policies

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque on Friday announced the newly approved guidelines by the IATF-EID including expanded salon services, religious gatherings, and travel agencies operations.

We should wait for the guidelines on pedicure and manicure, but it’s now allowed in principle. But don’t get too excited. the DTI is yet to release the rules for the gradual resumption of these services),” Roque disclosed.

Roque added that religious gatherings in GCQ areas will be allowed up to 10 percent of seating capacity or “up to 10 persons, whichever is higher, after July 10, 2020.”

For sports buffs, the “guidelines on the conduct of health-enhancing physical activities and sports during the COVID-19 pandemic” were approved. The practice and conditioning of basketball and football are now allowed.

Travel agencies under GCQ areas were also permitted to resume operations with limited workforce.

Roque also relayed the expansion of testing strategy that will include asymptomatic individuals. The second phase of the National Action Plan of the NTF has been approved.

We will push for the change in mindset of people where we will focus on health and disease prevention. We will balance goals in health and economy).” he said.
