More sovereign markers installed on PH northern islands

The Northern Luzon Command (NOLCOM) of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) installed additional sovereign markers in the northern part of the country.

The markers were placed in Mabaag and Barit Islands in Aparri, Cagayan. These are in addition to the markers placed by the NOLCOM last year on 11 uninhabited islands covered by the Babuyan Islands.

According to NOLCOM Commander LtGen. Arnulfo Burgos Jr., they are aiming to further assert the right of the Philippines in disputed territories in the northern part of the country.

“Rest assured that we will remain proactive and vigilant in ensuring the security of our people, as we safeguard our sovereignty and preserve the integrity of our national territory in this part of our country,” Burgos added.
