MRT-3 GM Garcia dies at 77


Metro Rail Transit 3 (MRT-3) General Manager Rodolfo Garcia passed away Wednesday at the age of 77.

GM Garcia was sent to the intensive care unit (ICU) of a hospital after testing positive for the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) in January.

“It is with a heavy heart to learn of the passing of one of the members of the Department of Transportation (DOTr) family, MRT-3 General Manager Rodolfo Garcia earlier this evening,” the transportation department confirmed.

“We acknowledge and highly appreciate Gen. Garcia for sharing his expertise, knowledge and leadership. We recognize his untiring effort to improve the state of the MRT-3. To Gen. Garcia, a snappy salute, Sir!” it added.

The DOTr also extended its sympathies to the family and loved ones of the official. – PTV News
