Muntinlupa stays unscathed after romping Basilan

MANILA — Muntinlupa Cagers remain unbeaten in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) Datu Cup after mauling Basilan Steel, 99-75, on Thursday night at the Bulacan Capitol Gymnasium in Malolos.

The Cagers pulled away from the Steel in the second half, outscoring them 53-30, to go 8-0 in the season.

GJ Ylagan fired 22 points on five triples with one rebound, while Felix Apreku (14 points and 14 rebounds) and Dhon Reverente (14 points and 11 rebounds) each achieved double-doubles for Muntinlupa.

Dennis Daa made 18 points, nine caroms, one assist, and two blocks for Basilan, which fell to 11th place in the tight Southern Division at 4-6. (Ivan Stewart Saldajeno/PNA)
