Napolcom recommends Cascolan promotion to 3-star rank

MANILA — The National Police Commission (Napolcom) recommended to President Rodrigo Roa Duterte the promotion of Police Director Camilo Pancratius P. Cascolan to Deputy Director General (equivalent to a three-star general in the military).

Cascolan, who is currently acting chief of the Directorial Staff, holds the fourth highest position in the police force.

In Resolution No. 2018-546 dated Oct. 15, the Napolcom en banc headed by Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) OIC-Secretary and Napolcom chairman Eduardo S. Año recommended the promotion of Cascolan who was conferred the Police Executive Service Eligibility (PESE) per Napolcom Resolution No. 2006-344 dated September 8, 2006.

Napolcom vice-chairman and executive officer Rogelio T. Casurao said the move conforms to the recommendation of Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Director General Oscar Albayalde.

Albayalde certified that Cascolan meets all requirements for promotion to three-star rank.

Cascolan was barely one and a half month into his post as regional director of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) when he was ordered to head the PNP Civil Security Group, the office in charge of licensing of security agencies, on June 1, 2018.

After three months, he was named acting chief of the Directorial Staff on September 1, 2018. (Christopher Lloyd Caliwan/PNA)
