NBI to probe price increase of food products


The Department of Justice (DOJ) ordered the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) to investigate the price increase of food products.

Under Department Order No. 029, DOJ Secretary Menardo Guevarra jas tasked the NBI to review violations of the RA 7581 or the Price Act, and the Revised Penal Code. A probe has also been ordered on any cartel or group that may be behind the manipulation of prices of pork meat and other products.

The DOJ Chief has given the NBI 30 days to submit a report on the matter. – Report from Kenneth Paciente
