NCR and suburbs under GCQ by Aug. 19

President Rodrigo R. Duterte has announced in his public address Monday night the new quarantine classifications for various areas in the Philippines.

The National Capital Region (NCR), Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna and Rizal will revert to General Community Quarantine effective on August 19.

Also under GCQ are Nueva Ecija, Batangas, Quezon, Iloilo City, Cebu City, Lapu-lapu City, Mandaue City, Talisay City and the Cebu municipalities of Minganilla and Consolacion while the rest of the Philippines is under Modified General Community Quarantine.

Meanwhile, in response to the Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, Pres. Duterte has assured that the government will strive to purchase the vaccine against the virus once it is available in the market.

The Chief Executive has also thanked Russia and China for offering the vaccine to the country.
