NCR, PH sees decline of COVID-19 reproduction numbers

By Pearl Gumapos

The OCTA Research Group on Monday (Oct. 11) said the country and the National Capital Region are seeing a downward trend in the COVID-19 reproduction numbers.

Ibig sabihin, bumababa talaga ‘yung hawaan…Ngayon nasa 0.63 ang reproduction number sa Metro Manila at bumababa pa ‘yan,” Professor Guido David said during the Laging Handa public briefing.

David says the 7-day average of cases in NCR is less than 2,000, at around 1,900+, pointing out that the last time the region saw less than 2,000 cases per day was last July 31 to Aug. 6, before the ECQ.

“Ibig sabihin, na-reverse na natin iyong surge na nangyari from August to September, at ngayon parang bumalik na tayo before nag-ECQ tayo noong Aug. 6,” David said.

He, however, warned that NCR’s average daily attack rate (ADAR) is still high.

The overall risk classification seen in Metro Manila is moderate, with most LGUs at moderate risk level.

Nananalo na tayo against the Delta variant,” David said.

-rir
