NCRPO cops warned vs. napping on the job

MANILA — The Philippine National Police (PNP) has a stern warning for policemen who are dozing off on the job.

National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) regional director Chief Supt. Guillermo Eleazar warned that sleeping while on duty is an offense.

It is considered as less grave neglect of duty and is penalized with the penalty of suspension from 31 to 59 days if found guilty.

The reminder came after a Marulas, Valenzuela policeman was caught sleeping on duty.

PO1 Gary Garcia of PCP-3 Valenzuela, under the Northern Police District, was caught sleeping during a surprise inspection conducted by Eleazar early Monday morning.

Garcia is now facing pre-charge investigation. (Benjamin Pulta/PNA)
