A total of 180 families or 534 individuals were evacuated in Cagayan Valley and Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) due to Tropical Storm “Florita,” the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) reported Tuesday, Aug. 23.
In its latest situational report, NDRRMC said 70 families or 152 individuals from Cagayan Valley and 110 families or 391 individuals from CAR were pre-emptively evacuated.
Classes were also suspended in 162 cities and municipalities in Ilocos Sur, Ilocos Norte, Dagupan, Cagayan, Isabela, Aurora, Albay, Camarines Sur, Sorsogon, Abra, Apayao, Benguet, Ifugao, Kalinga, Mountain Province.
President Ferdinand R. Marcor. Jr. also declared suspension of classes in all levels and work in government offices in Metro Manila, Cavite, Laguna, Rizal, Bulacan, Zambales, and Bataan.

“Florita” is expected to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility Wednesday morning, Aug. 24.
