NDRRMC: 237,948 families affected by Typhoon ‘Quinta’, 3 casualties


The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) has reported a total of 914,709 individuals or 237,948 families have been affected by Typhoon “Quinta”.

Around 77,000 individuals or 22,000 families have evacuated and are staying in 800 evacuation centers in Metro Manila, Regions 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, and CAR.

Based on the data of the NDRRMC, three casualties were recorded including a 60-year-old female from Siaton and a male from Bindoy who drowned in Negros Oriental and another in Mogpog, Marinduque who suffered the same fate. One person was reported to be severely injured.

The agency has also reported 13 missing persons including 1 crew member of a capsized yacht in Bauan, Batangas, 1 in Romblon, 11 fisherfolks from Catanduanes, Camarines Sur, Iloilo, and Negros Oriental. – Report from Bea Bernardo
