Nearly 1.2-M individuals now fully vaccinated against COVID-19

By Christine Fabro

More than five million doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered in the Philippines as of May 29, vaccine czar Secretary Carlito Galvez said.

According to Galvez, 5,120,023 individuals have received at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine, while 1,189,353 individuals are now fully vaccinated against the virus.

At least 93% of more than one million health care workers have received COVID-19 jabs.

Galvez said the government’s efficient vaccination rollout program can effectively contain the virus by August or September as long as there is an ample vaccine supply.

The vaccine czar also said that a decrease in cases will be seen once 30% of the population have been inoculated. -jlo
