BACOLOD CITY — A study manual on “Moral Transformation Towards a Drug-Free Province” was launched by the Negros Occidental provincial government with a group of ministers here on Tuesday.
The unveiling of the manual was held during the Christmas party of the Negros First Federation of Ministerial Association Inc. (NEFFMA) held at Planta Hotel and Residences.
Attending the launch, Governor Alfredo Marañon Jr. commended the group for “taking part in the transformation of the province and for helping instill peace in Negros Occidental.”
Continue being an inspiration to the people of Negros Occidental, he told the pastors.
Sixty ministers from different towns and cities received the first copies of the study manual produced with assistance from the provincial government.
Perfecto Marañon, provincial livelihood coordinator and adviser to NEFFMA, said the production of the manual is part of the advocacy of the pastoral communities in Negros Occidental in sustaining and developing peace.
Negros Occidental is the only province in the Philippines that gathers pastors in one purpose and advocacy, he added.
Pastor Alberto Jusayan, president of NEFFMA, thanked the governor for his continued support towards the production of the manual and hoped for more cooperation in future projects.
Last January, NEFFMA also launched the “Moral Recovery Program Study Manual for Government Employees,” also supported by the provincial government.
The manual aims to restore decency and love for fellowmen, specifically for government employees, through words written in the Bible. The manual made use of the verses found in the Bible that features Christian values, as a tool and spiritual guide towards moral recovery. (PNA)
