NegOcc promotes unique tourism packages at PH Travel Mart

BACOLOD CITY — Negros Occidental promoted its unique tourism offerings in the just-concluded 29th Philippine Travel Mart held at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City.

Cristine Mansinares, provincial supervising tourism operations officer, said on Monday they were able to feature new tourism products aside from the province’s usual offerings.

“Our participation positively contributed in increasing more awareness on the new products that we can offer,” she added.

This year, Negros Occidental promoted the birdwatching package, which includes forests and wetlands as birdwatching areas, such as the Gawahon Eco Park in Victorias City, Mambukal Mountain Resort in Murcia, and Barangay Tibsoc in San Enrique.

The province’s regular tourism products such as cultural tour, particularly the Bacolod-Silay-Talisay tour, and beach and diving package in Sipalay City, Danjugan Island in Cauayan, and Lakawon Island in Cadiz City were still featured.

Also showcased were Mambukal Mountain Resort for health and wellness, Campuestohan Highland Resort in Talisay City for a day trip, and various food offerings for culinary packages.

The Negros Occidental Tourism Division also distributed flyers and catered to inquiries about the MassKara Festival in Bacolod City in October.

Mansinares said they were able to meet the country’s top tour operators, as well as buyers from various countries.

She also said that during the three-day travel fair, Negros Occidental received a proposal for a partnership with the University of the Philippines-Diliman for its tourism-related studies and researches that would include learning trips of its students to the province.

“We were able to strengthen our linkages with other provinces. We were able to meet new tourism officers of other local government units as well as travel agents,” Mansinares added. (Erwin Nicavera/PNA)
