BACOLOD CITY — Negros Occidental’s Provincial Engineer’s Office (PEO) is set to use the 13 brand-new dump trucks worth almost PHP85 million acquired by the provincial government in early November.

Governor Alfredo Marañon Jr. turned over the units to Provincial Engineer Ernie Mapa after the blessing rites held at the PEO motorpool compound here Thursday.

Marañon told the drivers and other assigned personnel to be responsible in using the new pieces of equipment.

The dump trucks will be used for various engineering and construction projects.

Mapa said the province has purchased nine six-wheeler trucks worth PHP6.38 million each and three 10-wheeler trucks amounting to PHP8.188 million each.

The province has also acquired a PHP2.98-million dump truck to be used for the garbage collection project at the Provincial Capitol.
