NGCP activates OCMC to monitor earthquake-affected Visayas facilities

NGCP has activated its Overall Command Center (OCMC) to monitor the situation of its facilities in Visayas, following the 6.5 magnitude earthquake which occurred at 4:03PM today, July 6.

The earthquake caused island-wide blackouts in Samar, Leyte, and Bohol. Panay, Negros, and Cebu also experienced power interruptions but have already been restored.
As of 6PM, NGCP is still assessing the extent of the damage. Aerial and foot patrol will commence as soon as the situation is safe.

NGCP’s OCMC monitors all power restoration activities, reports, and updates from the Regional Command Centers in North Luzon, South Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, whichever is directly affected by natural or man-made calamity.
