NLEX bounces back, trips Columbian

MANILA — NLEX Road Warriors stopped Columbian Dyip in the fourth quarter to take a 116-104 win in the PBA Governors’ Cup at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City on Wednesday night.

Engaging in a close battle with the Dyip for most of the first three quarters, the Road Warriors opened the fourth quarter with a huge 11-0 run to take a 102-89 lead and held off the last ditch efforts of the Dyip later in the fourth as Aaron Fuller returned to the league with a bang.

Fuller, who replaced the injured Olu Ashaolu as NLEX’s import, tallied 35 points on 13-of-23 field goals, 21 rebounds, seven assists, and one steal as the team moved up to 3-1.

Larry Fonacier was NLEX’s top local with 17 markers, one rebound, and four assists.
